MODEL HORSE SHOW WITH A TWIST!

IT IS FREE TO ENTER AND FUN TO PARTICIPATE!

visit often, we are working on this page and our prizes as you read this

Breyer Princess Riding
I am hoping this will be so much fun for all of us that it becomes a monthly event. It will depend on participation. THIS CONTEST IS OPEN TO ALL TYPES AND BRANDS OF MODEL HORSES. But the scenes must be kept to scale/appropriate size. We are not nit picky on exact tack, but if tack is appropriate for the scene, it should be on the horses. Dolls, of course, should be dressed correctly for the scene.

The contests on this site could be called the most clever on subject with model horse photo contest rather then sticking to Live Horse Show Rules. Each month we will ask for an item to be in each persons entry, hidden or needed to be searched for item, think, Where`s waldo, to make the contest more interesting.

Indian Princess Bareback on Mustang Breyer
There will be two (small) prizes awarded each contest. One for the voters pick, one for the hosts pick.

Now, remember stay to theme and your horses scale (size), get clever and creative, and most of all HAVE FUN!

We reserve the right to deny any photo that do not follow the theme or are unappropriated for all aged eyes.

While you are here, look around the site and at our sister sites. We also have some fun and functional as well as very unusual items for sale in our on line store.

CONTEST RULES

Please read all of our contest rules before entering your photo. Thanks!!

Anyone from anywhere in the world may enter our photo contest.

This is a "just for jun" photo contest with first place prizes each month. It will be judged not only by folks that visit this website to vote, but also by the website hosts. That means two prizes per contest; and yes, the same person/contestant could win both.

Anyone and everyone (participants, their families and friends as well as those that just love to come and vote) may vote once a day. So, get the word out as far and wide as you can. Tell them to come vote once daily. A vote can only be submitted once in a 24 hour time period from any one ip address. ie that means two people voting from the same computer, or same computer hook up will only be allowed one vote.

The contest runs from the first of each month til the last day of the month at midnight, computer time....that's 12:00 midnight where our computer sever is located. We have been know to switch servers, so vote early to be safe.

The photo must be your own.

Photos of Model Horses only. Please, no other live pets or people in the photos. Just model horses. Photos with anything living (other then plants) will not be eligible for the contest.

Keep items as close to scale as you are possibly able. We have a chart on our Breyer Horses page here at this site that might help you with setting up your scene.

Each entry must have a short summery written out about what is happening in the scene with each photo. You will see the box for your 200 character summery when you enter into the contest.

Each month there will be one item, often an odd item, that every photo should have within. We prefer that you blend it in so that it has to be "searched for", as in Where's Waldo or the like. But having it front and center, if you prefer is alright too. But the item asked for per month must be in the photos entered in the contest. The item however must be shown in the photo in full, not just a corner sticking out from behind something. Make it fun, be clever, make us smile when we find it in your photo.

Everyone is welcome to participate in the contest each month of the year if they like.

Please only use your photo once for our contests. We do not mind if you have used your photos else where, or if you are going to use them elsewhere, but please only use them one time for our contests.

You must register to participate at Does My Butt Look Big In The Saddle. By registering we will have your snail mail address to mail you your prize at the end of the photo contest. If we do not have your full name and snail mail address we will not be able to mail you your prizes if you win. We do not contact you for further information upon winning. We do not sell or give this list to anyone. We use this registration for sales and so that our members can upload their photos to the site. Later, when new products become available I may/will also email you to let you be one of the first to see what is new.

Photos must be submitted to the site the month prior to the contest month. In other words, if you have a photo for February it must be to us by January 31 at 8 pm. Late photos will not be posted.

If it ever comes to a last word or a decision made on these contests. The Marna's Menagerie/Does My Butt team will have that authority. For instance, if there were what appears in percentage as a tie (but actual votes are different amounts) or if prizes needed to be changed for some unknown reason or if a person that won did so dishonestly and such.

HOW TO ENTER:

How Do I Enter A Photo?
I can't submit this photo for you from my account, but I think it is pretty easy for you to do. First, just register at this site. See Menu. You will need to pick a username and a password, and enter your name and email address. Then you will get an email at that email address that has a link to verify your email address was entered correctly (stops anonymous posting of emails).

Once you have done that, you can click on My Photo Album and upload the picture. When you upload the picture, a line of text will show beneath the photo that basically says "You have not entered a photo to the coming photo contest. Click here to enter this one!". Once you click that, you are "in".

There is an area with your photo submission to write a small summery about what is happening in the photo. Be creative. PLEASE! No adding anything about your own real life to the story. Stick strictly to the model horse photo.

ABOUT VOTING:

Tell everyone you know to come to the site, every 24 hours and vote for your photo to win The People Choice Award. No one has to register to vote or anything like that, just come to the site and cast a vote. It is that simple. (if you read the above rules you already know the rules on voting)

ABOUT PRIZES:

THERE WILL BE MORE PRIZES COMING. WE ADD PRIZES TO THIS PAGE OFTEN, MANY TIMES LATE IN THE MONTH THAT IS CURRENTLY RUNNING. ADDING PRIZES IS A WORK IN PROGRESS!!

We hope you like our monthly prizes. Most, if not all, of the items were designed and made by me....I make all these same type items first for my own model horses, myself or my live horses (depending on the prize awarded).

Prizes are described and photo is shown of the prizes for each months contest. What you see is what you get, Sorry, No substitutes, No color change, No different sizes.

You will find some of the same items for sale on our Items For Sale page, these are new, most made right here in NW SD by me in our non smoking home.

Prizes will be shipped about a week after the contest closes. We are not rural...we are way further out then that. See www.faroutliving.com Sometimes, not too often, the weather does not allow us to get out across the 6.4 miles of dirt Road between us and the Pavement on the Highway. Should that happen, your prize *will* go out as soon as possible after the contest closes.

If you see a prize you would like to own, but did not win one, check our Items For Sale page. We do ship our products all over the world. All monies go to feed and care for our live animals. Thanks!

NOVEMBER'S THEME: THE FIRST CHRISTMAS (you might want to get out those model donkeys for this one)

I am betting we see a few model donkeys in these scenes. There must be a TOOTHPICK somewhere in your photo. This would be a human use size, and full sized, in other words "as it comes from the package toothpick". You can of course have as many toothpicks as you please, but one has to be seen for what it is, not cut or broken or bent. Have a good time working it into your scene somehow, hidden, as in Where is that Toothpick, is even better. Remember, be creative and clever.

JANUARY'S THEME: MEDIEVAL TIMES

This scene must have a Medieval Times Theme and have at least one FEATHER in the scene. We prefer that your feather is hidden in the scene, but it does not have to be. Get creative but stay to theme. Renaissance times, outfits and such is what we are looking for in these photos. Don't forget to be clever with your paragraph write up about what is happening in your scene.

PRIZES THIS MONTH: There are two prizes this month. One is awarded to the "People's Choice Winner" and the other prize is awarded to "The Hosts Choice" winner. Sorry, we do not specify which prize goes to which winner.

The photo shows the dress on a 6 1/4" doll (the doll does not come with the dress). The dress is an off white with forest green leafing and little pink flowers. The Pink Ribbon can be tied in the back or the front of the dress when on the doll.

The other prize will be this cute little set of PEGASUS SHAPED EARRINGS. They are silver toned as well as the wires and just as cute as can be.
